Marvel’s Shang-Chi Release Date Moved Back Once Again

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has, once again, been shuffled farther down the release schedule of Disney’s Marvel Studios; a fate, typical of the times, now shared by some of its continuity cousins in the company’s latest move. The latest schedule overhaul by Disney will see Shang-Chi shift its release date from its previously set May 7, 2021 date to July 9, 2021. Shazam 2 is in the works, as officially revealed by New Line and Warner Bros. However, the 2022-bound sequel to the $364 million worldwide cinematic DC Comics smash could not withstand the COVID-19 pandemic, and will now see its release date significantly altered. Ghostbusters, Morbius Moved in Sony Schedule Shift

Sony Pictures has just shifted the release dates of a very large chunk of its upcoming slate, according to Deadline, pushing a number of major releases and summer tentpoles into next year in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps the two biggest films that are getting moved are Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the Sony/Marvel comic book movie Morbius.
